On October 24 – 26, 2017 in Bilbao, Spain, a conference on the 25th anniversary of the Osteba agency was held, in which Head of the Department for the development and external communications Nuriya Musina and the Chief Specialist of the Department of the methodological support of comprehensive health technology assessment of Vlada Fedyaeva took part.
The main theme of the Conference was the study of the life cycle of medical technologies from investment to disinvestment (exit from the market). The issues of hospital HTA, implementation of innovations in healthcare and the methods of searching for and removing obsolete medical technologies from practice were also discussed.
Within the framework of the conference there was a meeting of the members of the international EuroScan organization. EuroScan unites agencies and scientific organizations from different countries to share the information and jointly develop methods of the identification of promising innovative medical technologies, as well as the exclusion of obsolete technologies from the clinical practice. The meeting discussed the current situation in EuroScan member`s countries, prospects for the joint projects realization. Representatives from Australia, Spain, Great Britain and Italy shared their experience in the identification of innovative medical technologies and disinvestment. Representatives of the Center for Healthcare Quality Assessment and Control of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation expressed their readiness to join EuroScan and participate in the implementation of international projects.
