On September 27-28, 2017 in Bishkek, the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Evidence-Based Medicine and Health Technology Assessment in the Kyrgyz Republic” was initiated by the Working Group on the Implementation and Harmonization of Health Technology Assessment in the Countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
In order to share scientific and practical achievements, as well as strengthen interdepartmental cooperation and the cooperation within the framework of the EEU countries in evidence-based medicine and health technology assessment, within the framework of the Conference several sessions were organized: “Science-based medicine and health technology assessment in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union”, “New legislation in the field of HTA and drug treatment in the EEU”, “Automation and Information Technology in the Health System”, “Long-Term Questions of clinnical efficiency and cost-effectiveness of health technologies”. The sessions were attended by the representatives of the Center for Healthcare Quality Assessment and Control of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
Vitaly Omelyanovskiy, the Head of the Center for Healthcare Quality Assessment and Control of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, noted that the HTA was a worldwide accepted approach for the assessment of the medications and medical devices in terms of their clinical effectiveness based on the principles of evidence-based medicine and economic acceptability. According to him, the complex of clinical and economic efficiency of technology is a concept for HTA.
“The interest of the professional community in the application of HTA tools and the state demand to finance technologies that have proved their effectiveness will ensure the successful development of health technology institutions in the Kyrgyz Republic,” said Vitaly Omelyanovskiy.
